Key Moments:

  • Stake has rebranded its Stake Engine platform to Engine, opening it to operators across the iGaming sector.
  • Games built on Engine have generated over $23 billion in total turnover from more than 9.7 billion bets to date.
  • Engine now connects more than 1,000 game creators, producing over 250 new titles weekly for the industry.

Engine Platform Expands Industry Reach

Stake, recognized as the world’s largest online casino and sportsbook, has announced the renaming of its Stake Engine technology platform to simply “Engine.” With this change, the platform and its rapidly expanding creator ecosystem are being made available to operators throughout the iGaming industry. Previously focused on releasing exclusive content for Stake, Engine will now supply content to a range of operators through a single integration.

Rapid Growth in Games and Turnover

Since its inception, Engine has supported the development and distribution of games that have collectively contributed more than $23 billion in turnover, with over 9.7 billion bets placed. These performance metrics are now highlighted as part of Engine’s value proposition to potential operators exploring the platform.

Robust Creator Ecosystem and Seamless Distribution

Engine currently encompasses over 1,000 individual game creators, generating upwards of 250 new titles every week. By extending access to other betting and gaming operators, Engine is introducing a new distribution model: developers can create games within the platform, while partners gain access to a continually expanding content library.

Transparent and Streamlined Operations

Each Engine-distributed game features provably fair mechanics, ensuring independent verifiability and enhancing transparency throughout its growing catalogue. The platform operates under a standardized contract model for both operators and creators, managing settlements through a single monthly invoice. Operators retain the majority of generated revenue, accessing a dynamic pipeline of fresh games developed by a varied creator community rather than relying on a static selection.

Leadership Perspective

Ed Craven, co-founder of Stake, commented: “Engine has already proved that a creator-led community can create some truly fantastic, quality games, at scale. But what initially started as a way of removing the barriers to entry to game development has now grown into a content development Engine with enormous potential. Our evolution into Engine marks a new chapter in that growth journey.

“We’re building on that solid foundation that we’ve created and taking the Engine model beyond Stake. We want creators to be able to build new and exciting games and broaden that reach to audiences across the industry. And for operators, this means access to a wealth of new and exciting original content and tools that they can use to build creator ecosystems of their own.

“With 1,000 creators on board, and hundreds of games being added to the pipeline every week, we believe that this will fundamentally change how casino content is created and distributed going forward.”

Hayden Bruin, head of operations at Engine, added: “The goal has always been to make building and launching games dramatically easier for developers. Engine brings the entire process together in one place – from development and testing through to approval, deployment, distribution and monetisation.

“We’ve already shown that a developer can go from an idea to a live game in as little as 24 hours. Now, by opening Engine to operators, that same game can have the potential to reach audiences far beyond a single platform.

“That changes the opportunity for creators significantly. Developers can spend more time building great games and less time dealing with fragmented technology, integrations and operational complexity, while operators gain access to a much broader and faster-moving source of original content.”
